Well, I made the long trek south to watch the Bonneville Speed Week racing. Unfortunately, heavy rains flooded the salt flats and the Speed Week was cancelled. All the stuff that looks like water is water! It was up to the knees at times.
Hand-lettered signs, helmets, parts, motorcycles, and all sorts of things I'm interested in.

August Sign of the Month- Vintage Hire's Root Beer Sign
This great old Hire's sign is painted straight on the wall of this old grocery store in Portland, Oregon. I saw it and had to take a picture. This is also a testament to the durability of hand painted signage versus cookie-cutter vinyl. How long has this been there? Judging from the bottle, probably from the 1940's or 50's. I hope its not painted over in the future.

Spit and Shine Motorcycle Show 2014 at the Shop
Our man in the field Brother Tom rode his mighty sickle to the Spit and Shine show this year and to some pictures. If you look closely you'll see his El Burro Azul custom C70, as painted by JEK.

July Sign of the Month Take 2- Vintage Shell Oil Sign
I just realised that I already posted the Guzzi sign as a Sign of the Month a year ago. So, I thought I would do a part two with this Shell sign from Burnaby Village Museum. Great place to visit, especially around Christmas time.

Kelly's Olympian Bar Neon Sign in Portland
A nice example of some classic neon signage, advertising Kelly's Olympian Bar. I liked the bikes they had there too.

May Sign of the Month- Scottish Prices Sign
This sign is an old hand-lettered item found in a Voodoo Doughnuts location in Portland. It plays on the thrifty Scotsman theme.
