My SV650 With a Cafe Racer Fairing

I bought this EMGO cafe fairing.  I'm still not sure as to whether it should stay all black or if I should paint it red.  It needed some cutting to fit and I made up my own brackets as the stock ones were awful to try and fit to the SV.

  1. Hey I know this is a super old thread but how did you make the brackets? I am ordering one of these for my 05' SV and I am interested in how you did em. Thank you!!

  2. This was a case of a lot of trial and a lot of error! I used metal strapping I bought at my local hardware store. Getting the shape right was the tricky part. Once I got one side to fit I used that as a template for the other side, and then I tweaked them both to get the thing to sit even. After that I wound up trimming the headlight ring of the fairing to get it to fit flush with the headlight. The SV headlight is a bit larger than the Emgo headlight opening. It was a fun project for me. Good luck with it!

  3. Just one more note: the headlight opening was not trimmed yet in these pictures. See my later posts to see how flush I was able to get the fairing with the headlight. I found that this was necessary to get the full range of illumination from the headlight.
